NOTIFICATION
 
Trafficking of human beings, especially of women and children, is one of the fastest growing trades, generating unaccountable profits annually.
 
With the objective of prevention, rescue, safe return and ensuring speedy repatriation of victims of trafficking between states, in the states and with Bangladesh the Government of West Bengal has set up State Task Force on combating human Trafficking.
 
The Governor is, pleased to reconstitute the State Task Force on Combating Human Trafficking for the State of West Bengal, consisting of the following officials and functionaries:

The terms of reference of the said State Task Force on Combating Human Trafficking in respect of West Bengal shall be as follows: -
 
  • To generate awareness on Human Trafficking at the district and state level.
  • To disseminate and exchange information with Non-Govt. Organizations, Police and Government Dept. within West Bengal, with other states and neighbouring countries to ensure safe return and integration of trafficked victims from Maharashtra.
  • To support the relevant authorities and focal points to expedite the repatriation process of children of neighbouring countries with special focus on Bangladesh according to the agreed time frame .
  • To monitor and up-date information regarding the movement and placement of child victims in West Bengal.
  • To monitor, oversee and expedite the repatriation process within West Bengal, as well as other states & neighbouring countries.
  • To maintain regular liaison with Maharshtra Task Force, National Task Force and Bangladesh Task Force.
